“It’s indefinite,” Sorensen says. “What’s to fail on an MJM? It’s an oven, post-cured epoxy boat. It’s as well built as a Dreamliner, as far as I can see. There’s no reason that a boat like that couldn’t be here in 100 years.” Maybe 200 years, he later added. “They’re heirlooms,” blurted out Sorensen, who is the technical writer for Soundings and who was the founding director of J.D. A trip to paradise: in comfort, luxury and only two hours away. image

On Memorial Day weekend, the DANILU, Diaz Marine’s MJM Yachts 36z demo boat cruised from Miami to Bimini in less than two hours on 22 gallons of fuel. Average speed crossing the Gulf Stream was around 28 knots and we arrived around 3:30 PM, quickly docked, rinsed the boat and cleared customs by 4:15 PM.             The following morning, we made several stops throughout the surrounding areas of Bimini.   The first was the SS Sapona (a concrete hulled cargo steamer that ran aground near Bimini during a hurricane in 1926). Truly Epic Fishing Tournament video

Diaz-Marine was honored to be part of such an incredible event. This was the 4th Annual Ransom Everglades Epic Tournament (R.E.E.F.)  to raise funds for special projects that fulfill the school’s mission that is guided by the words of Paul C. Ransom, “produce graduates who ‘believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it.’ ”
